23 May 2014:  Romney Marsh, Kent.  After all the boats I’d been painting, I wanted to do a landscape for a change.   So I found a quiet spot on the Romney Marsh, with some mature willow trees and a small brook.  It was in a field away from the road, so it was very tranquil - only a few sheep to keep me company.  The sun was shining beautifully and the painting came right very quickly - I haven’t touched it since.   I’m posting a photo of the painting still on site and in my pochade box.

"if you had a friend who spoke to you in the same way you sometimes speak to yourself, how long would you allow that person to be your friend?" — one of the most eye opening things i’ve read in a while  (via lulionheart)
